A dark, focused terminal interface with multiple layered panes of activity — code, agent thoughts, and tool executions — rendered with quiet precision and depth.

Grok Build

I mostly use Claude Code. What made me try Grok Build was native X platform search and Grok Imagine generations available directly as tools in the terminal — no extra keys or tab switching.

I do most of my day-to-day work in Claude Code.

It is simply the easiest and most effective tool I have for the web design and CRO work I get paid to do — the two things that matter most outside my own shipping. It excels at rapid UI/UX exploration and conversion-focused iterations.

I opened Grok Build for the two capabilities that live nowhere else without friction: native X platform search and Grok Imagine generations, available directly as tools in the terminal. No extra keys. No tab switching.

X Platform Access

Full X search tools live inside the agent:

  • x_keyword_search with every advanced operator
  • x_semantic_search
  • x_user_search
  • x_thread_fetch (full thread + parents + replies)

Results become immediate context for reading files and editing code in the same session.

xAI Capabilities

The same terminal agent exposes these as first-class tools:

  • Grok Imagine (images + video) — generate and edit in repo context
  • Parallel subagents with shared terminals
  • Plan Mode for read-only exploration before edits
  • Skills for reusable, version-controlled workflows
  • Full TUI with scrollback

When It Wins

Claude Code stays my default for straight design and conversion implementation.

Grok Build wins the moment the job needs live X data or original imagery in the exact same continuous flow as editing the repository.

The terminal stops being a place I type commands and becomes the place where the network and the model are already in the room with me.
